Sun, Moon and Stars Wedding in a Private Orchard

It’s honestly hard to put this wedding into words.  The love I felt that day was pure, genuine and abundant.  Ashley and Timmy got married on a private orchard overlooking the river with their wonderful family and friends. The atmosphere was pure magic. 

   The October day started as overcast with a few sprinkles that turned into the sun popping out and casting a beautiful warm glow. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better a rainbow came out and gave us a magic show over the river just in time for their reception.  As they partied under the stars and danced slowly to over a hundred sparklers, the moon came out in all it’s glory and was full, over the river. This was the PERFECT day for Ashley and Timmy’s sun, moon and star themed wedding.  

     Not only was the wedding full of details, they were way more meaningful.  Ashley taught herself how to hand letter and beautifully crafted every letter we saw that day.  She learned how to dye fabric and created over 200 dinner napkins.  Timmy and guys custom built the bar and so much more. Their family and friends came together to help them create a magical love celebration that I will never forget and feel blessed to be part of.  

 Congratulations Ashley and Timmy, may you always smile as much as you did on your wedding day, I know you will :)  

Ashley got ready at Timmy’s family home, then we headed over to this amazing private orchard full of hand crafted details. Look how amazing this moon is they built!

Just when we thought the day couldn’t get more magical, the FULL moon came out in all it’s glory and sparkled over the river!

MINI SESSION DETAILS 

Dates?  From September 26th - October 8th (weather permitting) 

Location?  York Pa / beautiful outdoor location to be determined closer to date.

Is this a themed session?  This is a great flexible time during the seasons.  I have some clients wanting a late summer feel, a fall theme, and some want to use these photos as their Christmas photos.  Therefore, we'll be shooting in a neutral outdoor nature background so you can use them for anything, yay!  You are welcome to bring along your own props based on your vision. For example, for a fall themed you can bring along pumpkins and a fun fall blanket... For Christmas you can dress in holiday colors and bring along simple Christmas props.  Given the time frame of only 25 minutes just remember to keep it simple as there may not be tons of time to set up a huge scene  :)  If you're unsure, no worries.  This doesn't have to fall under a themed category, we can keep it neutral for classic timeless images.  

Length of session?  25 minutes

Price?  $200 ($180 if you pay with green cash) 

What do I get?  A fun session and 15 beautifully edited images in your own online gallery for you to share, download and print as much as you want. 

What type of portraits qualify for a mini session?  Family (not extended), engagement, business profile headshots, children, puppies, and maternity. 

What else do I need to know?  Please be on time for your session.  It’s important for us to stick to the blocked time schedule so that everyone can fairly be accommodated.  Feel free to arrive early and hang out to let the kids decompress from the ride (you too, haha)  Each session is a fun, breezy 25 minutes.  Payment is due in full at the time of session. If you pay with cash, you get a $20 discount! I also take debit/credit cards if needed.  For attire, I’ve created a fun inspirational Pinterest board for you -here-

Length of session?  As long as I need to capture everything I need to be artistically satisfied, typically around an hour+

Is this a themed session?  This is a great flexible time during the seasons.  I have some clients wanting a late summer feel, a fall theme, and some want to use these photos as their Christmas photos.  Therefore, we'll be shooting in a neutral outdoor nature background so you can use them for anything, yay!  You are welcome to bring along your own props based on your vision. It was POURING the day they wed, we got our safe and dry portraits.. but then they took a risk and went out in the rain with me. Somehow this has turned into my favorite wedding photo. It's blurry and by typical standards its unusable... but I LOVE IT. He's protecting his new bride and they're scurrying in to greet all of their loved ones. THIS IS LOVE. THIS IS THEIR WEDDING DAY. I document lives for a living. I LOVE IT. Every time I get to photograph the love you share with that special someone on your wedding day, the giggles of your family, or the sweet yawn of a your newborn, my heart skips a beat. I get to live life with so many people and be there for the moments in life that are most precious. It always fills me with great joy.

This year, it is time for me to document my life. My husband, Kermit, and I work hard. We love what we do and love our lives, but we have the opportunity to do something amazing. We are going on an adventure, OUR big adventure. Kermit and I are headed to Northern California for a year.

While based in California for a year, I will be back in York, PA once a month throughout the summer: shooting weddings and booking your family sessions. Each of these visits home will be posted well in advance so you can book your session.

We will be heading West this Spring and couldn’t be more excited. I care deeply for each of you, my clients, who have instilled in me love, friendship and a sense of family I could have never imagined. This adventure would not be possible without you.

For anyone reading this, no matter what your dreams of adventure are, they are possible. Work hard. Take a leap of faith. Know that risk is worth it.

ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND | EXPLORE > A PERSONAL POST

      As a wedding/ lifestyle photographer we have great weekends, we're a part of so many celebrations and I feel so fortunate to document your lives.... but I have a problem.  I take personal pictures (sometimes) and let them go to the wayside and never spend time working on anything for us. ( shame face, our honeymoon pictures are still on a memory card from 2 years ago!)  

       I haven't taken a true day off in ?? .. well, I have no idea how long it's been.  A day where I'm not glued to my computer or not checking the gmail app on my phone.  Having 2 days to disconnect where my phone was not in my pocket or constantly in front of me was wonderful!  I feel rejuvenated and inspired.  My husband and I headed out on our motorcycles to celebrate life and our anniversary this weekend.  I'm going to challenge myself to start sharing more of our little adventures so our family and friends can see and hopefully inspire others to get out there in the world and breathe some fresh air, do something you've never done.  We headed towards State College with backpacks and no plans.... here's a peek into what we saw...

Feeling like I got some real "rider-cred" this weekend and passed the point of being a "fair weather rider".  When we left Friday it was 70 degrees, return trip from State College area.. LOWER 40'S and cloudy !!!  Thankfully Penn's Cave sold clothing so we looked like decked out super tourist for the ride home.  No shame in putting souvenir pants on top of my jeans lookin' like a real biker! hahaha.  

After we thawed out, did some house chores, I set up our new ENO hammocks to test out... unfortunately it was about freezing temps so we couldn't hang out long..... I can't wait to actually camp/sleep in these one day!  

We should really make the time to slow down and actually enjoy our environment.... This weekend with my best friend was priceless, I am so very grateful for the time and laughter.
